Established on December 27, 2022, in collaboration with Cappadocia University, the Republic of Turkey Ministry of National Education, and the Ürgüp Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the school holds the distinction of being Turkey’s first thematic gastronomy high school. The high school is structured as an R&D center in the food and beverage sector and inspires young chefs through a foreign language-focused, hands-on, and interdisciplinary education model. Students learn traditional local dishes from female master chefs, thereby preserving Cappadocia’s gastronomic heritage; this educational model aims to contribute both to tourism and regional development. As of August 9, 2024, to honor the memory of our respected founder Alev Alatlı, the institution’s official name has been updated to "Cappadocia Alev Alatlı Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School of Gastronomy."
